How the work runs
- Assessment and wash. We look over the paint and interior first, then wash by hand with pH-neutral shampoo after a snow foam pre-wash.
- Decontamination. Iron remover, tar remover and a clay bar treatment lift bonded contamination so the paint feels glass-smooth.
- Paint correction where needed. Machine polishing removes swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation, matched to what your paint actually needs.
- Deep interior clean. Vacuum, seat shampooing, carpet and upholstery cleaning, leather conditioning and interior glass, as the package requires.
- Protection. A sealant or ceramic coating locks in the result, with aftercare advice so the finish lasts.

Do you come to my home or workplace?
Yes, that is the whole point. Mint Detail is a fully mobile service and we bring our professional detailing setup directly to you, whether you are at home or at work in Earls Colne, Colchester, Halstead, Braintree or anywhere across North Essex. All we need is access to your vehicle and space to work.
What do I need to provide before you arrive?
Just clear, unobstructed access to your vehicle and space to work around it. We ask that any personal items you want to keep safe are removed from the interior before we begin. Everything else, we handle.
Is mobile detailing suitable for older cars?
Yes. Older paint often benefits the most from a detail, because machine polishing and decontamination can lift years of oxidation and grime. We assess the paint first and recommend only the work it will genuinely benefit from.
How often should a car be detailed?
It depends on use and storage. Many owners book a full detail once or twice a year and keep the car up with regular valets in between. We can suggest a routine that fits how you use the car when we see it.
What is the difference between a valet and a full detail?
A valet is primarily a cleaning service: exterior wash, interior vacuum and a wipe-down. A full detail goes much deeper, with machine polishing to remove paint defects and swirl marks, clay bar decontamination, steam interior cleaning, leather conditioning and protective ceramic coatings. Think of a valet as a thorough clean and a detail as a complete restoration and protection treatment.
How long does a mobile detail take?
It depends on the service. A mini valet typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours, a full valet 3 to 4 hours, a premium detail including machine polishing 6 to 8 hours, and a full ceramic coating package may span a full day or two depending on vehicle size and paint condition. We always give a realistic time estimate before starting.
